Crowns are manufactured caps for the teeth covering made from porcelain, metal or ceramic. Its texture and color can be altered to suit the existing teeth. Crowns are made to replace the lost or missing tooth structure due to caries, fracture or trauma. Crowns are also fixed after root canal procedures to restore the tooth’s aesthetics and function.
Bridges are prosthetic replacements for two or more missing teeth, assisting in decreasing the gaps between the teeth. Bridges can also be used when the dentures are unstable or aesthetically displeasing. They modify the surrounding existing teeth, put less workload on the missing areas and distribute the function to the neighboring teeth. Bridges are functionally more efficient and conservative than the crowns.
