Dental implants are modern age fixed replacements for the missing teeth. They are usually done in cases of damaged roots resulting from cyst formation, pyorrhoea (smelly gums), infection or swelling in the gums.
A metal screw is surgically placed in your jaw bone, replacing the damaged one. Implants can be made of different materials like titanium and zirconia which gives it more stability and makes it long lasting. These bio-integrated materials prevent bone resorption and other allergic reactions to the patient.
Since the implants are placed in the socket of the tooth root and are further capped with a crown or a bridge, they give the feel of natural teeth. Implants do not affect the surrounding teeth and will not become loose like dentures.
